Determination of tear strength of conventional vulcanized rubber and thermoplastic elastomers.

Basic Results

Fs: Further tearing force (median force) in the evaluation range
Fs upper: Mean value of the upper force peaks in the evaluation range
Fs lower: Mean value of the lower force peaks in the evaluation range
Fa: Initial tearing force / Static friction force (first force peak)
Ts: Resistance to further tearing or separation resistanceT = F / b, (sample width)
Ts upper: Ts upper = Fs upper / b
Ts lower: Ts lower = Fs lower / b
Ta: Ta = Fa / b
nPk upper: Further tearing force (median force) in the evaluation range
nPk lower: Mean value of the upper force peaks in the evaluation range
