BA20 module - Flexural tensile strength of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete EN 14651

Take your testing to the next level – available as an add-on module

Description

Test Method for Metallic Fibered Concrete – Flexural Tensile Strength (LOP and Residual)
Standard: EN 14651:2005

This standard defines a method for determining the flexural tensile strength of metallic fibered concrete using moulded test specimens. The test measures the Limit of Proportionality (LOP) and a series of residual flexural tensile strength values.

Applicable to metallic fibers up to 60 mm in length, the method can also be used for combinations of metallic and non-metallic fibers.

The tensile behavior is evaluated through residual flexural tensile strength values derived from the load–crack mouth opening displacement curve or load–deflection curve, obtained by applying a center-point load on a simply supported notched prism.

Basic Results

  • FL: The maximum load in the range from 0 to 0,05mm of deflection.
  • fL: The residual flexural strength at the LOP
  • FR,1: The load at CMOD = 0.5 mm
  • FR,2: The load at CMOD = 1.5 mm
  • FR,3: The load at CMOD = 2.5 mm
  • FR,4: The load at CMOD = 3.5 mm
  • fR,1: Residual flexural tensile strength at F1
  • fR,2: Residual flexural tensile strength at F2
  • fR,2: Residual flexural tensile strength at F3
  • fR,4: Residual flexural tensile strength at F4
